Day 1: Waterton Lakes National Park – Awe-Inspiring Beginnings

Your journey begins with the breathtaking landscapes of Waterton Lakes National Park. Discover the charm of Waterton Lakes and pause for photos at the historic Prince of Wales Hotel, a lakeside icon. Stroll the vibrant red stones of Red Rock Canyon, where the beauty of nature unfolds with every step. Feel the refreshing spray of Blakiston Falls and admire the dramatic plunge of Cameron Falls amidst lush surroundings. Relax over lunch in Waterton, soaking in views of the serene waters and forested backdrop. We’ll conclude with a stop at Lundbreck Falls for more stunning scenery before heading to Calgary for a comfortable overnight stay.

Day 2: Banff National Park – Alpine Beauty and Scenic Wonders

Today, we dive into Banff National Park’s splendor, starting with panoramic vistas from the Banff Gondola, where a gentle ride lifts you to Sulphur Mountain’s peak for a view of the valleys below. Explore the captivating Bow Falls and wander through the Cascade of Gardens, where beautifully curated flower beds contrast with the rugged mountain backdrop. We’ll stop at Surprise Corner, a viewpoint famed for its perspective of the iconic Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, then head to the Hoodoos Trail to see Banff’s mysterious sandstone formations sculpted by nature over centuries.

For those who crave a bit of adventure, we’ll journey to Johnston Canyon, where you can explore its lower and upper falls along a scenic trail that winds beside cascading waters. Lake Minnewanka awaits afterward, with an optional cruise across this glacial lake, a serene experience framed by mountains. Finally, we’ll ascend to the Mount Norquay lookout for sweeping views over Banff. After a delightful lunch in Banff’s charming town, we’ll settle in for a comfortable stay in Banff.

Day 3: Banff and Yoho National Parks – Lakes and Glaciers

Today is a nature lover’s dream as we explore both Banff and Yoho National Parks. Marvel at the famous turquoise waters of Lake Louise and then venture to the tranquil Moraine Lake, surrounded by towering peaks. Crossing into Yoho, visit Emerald Lake, where its mirror-like waters reflect the surrounding forest and mountains, and take in the powerful Takakkaw Falls, cascading down rocky cliffs. We’ll make additional stops at Bow Lake and Peyto Lake to enjoy their pristine blue waters, and finally, pause at the Crowfoot Glacier, a stunning ancient formation. Tonight, we stay at a cozy lodge along the Icefields Parkway, immersed in the Rockies’ natural beauty.

Day 4: Jasper National Park – Glaciers and Canyons

Our final day brings the wonders of Jasper National Park. Step onto the breathtaking Athabasca Glacier with an optional Ice Explorer bus ride to its very top for an unforgettable experience. Just a short drive away, the Skywalk offers a thrilling glass-floored path above the valley below. We’ll stop at the scenic Athabasca Falls and the mesmerizing Sunwapta Falls as we head deeper into Jasper’s wilderness. At Maligne Canyon, traverse the dramatic gorge carved by centuries of water flow, and continue to Maligne Lake for an optional cruise to Spirit Island, a picture-perfect gem amid tranquil waters. You will be staying in Calgary Tonight and get ready for Drumheller.

Day 5: Drumheller – A Journey Through Prehistoric Times

After a leisurely start at 9 AM, we head out to the world-renowned Drumheller region, known as the Dinosaur Capital of the World. Our first stop is the Royal Tyrrell Museum, home to one of the largest collections of dinosaur fossils on Earth. Step into the prehistoric era as you explore fascinating exhibits showcasing the massive creatures that once roamed this land.

Next, we’ll venture to the Hoodoos Trail, where you’ll marvel at Drumheller’s distinctive rock formations, sculpted by erosion over millions of years into towering mushroom-shaped pillars. We’ll also visit the Rosedale Suspension Bridge, a historical swinging bridge that once connected miners to the Star Mine, providing spectacular views over the Red Deer River.

For another memorable sight, we’ll stop at the World’s Largest Dinosaur for a fun photo opportunity. Climb up inside this 86-foot-tall T. rex statue for panoramic views of Drumheller from its open jaws! The adventure continues with a scenic drive through the Horseshoe Canyon, a picturesque area with sweeping views of layered rock formations and colorful sedimentary layers.

After a full day exploring Drumheller’s ancient landscapes and fascinating history, we’ll return to Calgary for an evening of relaxation. Enjoy a comfortable overnight stay in Calgary to cap off your unforgettable Canadian Rockies and Badlands journey.

Maligne Lake Cruise to Spirit Island (Day 4)

If you choose to join the optional Maligne Lake Cruise, you’ll glide across glassy waters toward the mystical Spirit Island, surrounded by the stunning peaks of Jasper. This serene and iconic spot is one of the most photographed places in the Rockies.
